Convert ODT to PDF: This is how it works


Here at GIGA you can find out how you can convert your ODT text file, i.e. a file in OASIS Open Document Format, into a PDF file.

ODT is a name for a text file. This is based on OASIS Open Document. You can convert this standard text format from OpenOffice and LibreOffice into a PDF file. This has many advantages, in particular better print quality and easier compatibility when sending. How you can convert an ODT file into a PDF file, you will learn in this article.

Convert ODT to PDF: By exporting

Do you want to convert the finished OpenOffice document into a PDF file? This is how it works very simply in the program itself:

  1. Open the document in OpenOffice and click on “file“, Then on”Export as“And then on”Export as PDF …“.
  2. Selects in the options, for example which pages should be converted.
  3. Then click on “Export“.
  4. Select your storage location, enter the name for the PDF document and click on “Save on computer“.

That’s it already. You can also convert your JPG files into PDF files. With Windows 10 you can even save a website as a PDF.
