Corine (Telephone): her addiction to heroin, her love story with Louis Bertignac… she tells it all: Femme Actuelle Le MAG

Corine Marienneau comes back from afar. After the dazzling success of Phone in the 1980s, the former bassist of the French rock group composed of Jean-Louis Aubert and Louis Bertignac confided in the review Shnock after years of absence. It must be said that the cloth burns within the group … While Corine Marienneau thought to be invited to the reformation of Phone, renamed The Insus, no invitation will be issued and the tour will take place without it. An affront that the 68-year-old musician simply did not digest. Asked in the columns of Parisian, Jean-Louis Aubert had not hidden his resentment towards his former comrade: "For thirty years, we never called each other, we never saw each other. This is not how we play with people. She stayed in the past." A dark past punctuated by excesses and a love story chilled with one of the members of the group …

"Louis was adorable, a kind of Little Prince …"

In the 35th issue of Shnock, Corine Marienneau looks back at the genesis of the group Phone, occurred a few months after the beginning of a love story that will mark his life. Indeed, while returning from a long stay in the United States, the aspiring guitarist is staying with friends who will introduce him to a certain Louis Bertignac: "Louis I found him adorable. A kind of little Prince. But I was not at all in the idea of seducing him. It didn't interest me. I had a sexless, androgynous side. We were very friends ", she explains. However, their destiny will all the same bring them together: "It only lacked sex and it turns out that when it happened it was fused. So we lived a very intense love story. We were stuck. " However, a third guest will come to sow trouble among their couple: the heroine.

After a violent argument with Jacques Higelin who had just hired Louis Bertignac as a guitarist, the latter and Corine Marienneau set sail: "Louis takes me away from this house supposedly because I 'deserve better' to go … to his parents! This is the heart of our story for three, Louis, the heroine and me. Fortunately, we don't we don’t sting but I’m losing ten pounds… ", she confides, below an old photo of the couple, the cheeks hollowed by drugs and a cadaverous figure. Some months later, Phone is born while Corine gradually falls into "loving submission to Louis and a discreet addiction to heroin". A "cocoon" diabolical which will last ten years before the final separation of the group in 1986.
