Home schooling and school openings are a problem of the Corona crisis. What went wrong? Britta Ernst, head of the Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs, is now answering questions from the population in a live interview – from pupils as well as from mothers.

Sometimes they open, then close again. Sometimes half of the students are allowed to come, sometimes they stay at home. Then again parents are asked to slip into the role of teachers. The corona crisis exposed many of society's problems – including those of many schools across Germany.

Home schooling, inadequate digitization and corona concepts have been with parents and children for a year now. The situation differs from school to school – just like in families. While in some places children can learn from mom's laptop without any problems, others sit together with three siblings in the same room – without any devices. Still others can't keep up at all because there is no on-site support from the teachers or the lessons in the live stream are more poorly than right. There are many problems. What is lacking are the solutions. In the last few months, not only feelings of frustration, but also many questions have arisen. What plan are schools pursuing? And how should things go on in the corona crisis for children?

The President of the Conference of Ministers of Education is now asking herself these and other questions. In the RTL format "Deutschland asks Britta Ernst" she is available to answer live questions. It's about the school openings and the criticism of them – but also about how students and teachers can be protected in the future. Who will be vaccinated? What do the test strategies and hygiene concepts look like? Can children make up the educational gaps? And how can schools even function in the future during the corona crisis? RTL asks questions about the topics that families are currently on the heart. And lets them have their say. Because primary school students through high school graduates should also have their own say via video messages.
