Corona case at the Formula 1 final
Schumacher colleague Mazepin missed the race
Formula 1 has had a corona case in the starting field for the first time in about three months: Nikita Mazepin, Mick Schumacher’s teammate at Haas, tested positive and was positive before the season finale in Abu Dhabi (Sunday, 2 p.m. / Sky and in the live ticker at ntv.de) will miss the race. Haas announced that that morning. The Russian will not be replaced, so only 19 cars take part.
Mazepin is doing well, the 22-year-old is currently asymptomatic and has gone into quarantine. Little changes on the starting line-up, Mazepin was already in last position behind Schumacher.
Most recently, Alfa Romeo driver Kimi Räikkönen had missed two races in September due to positive tests, since last year record world champion Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) and Sebastian Vettel’s team-mate Lance Stroll (Aston Martin) had to do without starts for this reason.
