Corona crisis: These celebrities are stranded in foreign countries

Since the corona virus has raged, many countries have tightened their entry and exit regulations extremely. Among the countless people who are currently stranded far from home, there is also a prominent name. These stars are stuck abroad these days.

Loddar in Dubai

Germany's record national soccer player Lothar Matthäus (59) is currently in Dubai with his wife Anastasia and son Milan. The family had gone there early on vacation after Matthäus was no longer needed as a sky expert because of the canceled football games. To date, however, they have not been able to return, as he said in an interview with the "Abendzeitung".

"I can no longer enter Budapest – even though I have been my main residence there for 16 years. The Hungarians have closed the borders for anyone who does not have a Hungarian passport. So I cannot go to my apartment there." His wife is Russian, the 59-year-old continues: "It is difficult for her to enter Germany at the moment because she does not have an EU ID. So I cannot go to my second home in Munich either." The situation was "very stressful" for all of them, said the ex-kicker.

"Cast Away" in Down Under

The internationally best known stranded star is without a doubt actor and Oscar winner Tom Hanks (63). Exactly two weeks ago it became known that the US star was infected while filming in Australia. First, he and his wife Rita Wilson (63) were therefore "down under" in the hospital, now stuck in a rented house in quarantine. After all, they were able to use the time to recover well from their symptoms, as the latest update of the two reveals regarding their state of health. Fun Fact: Hanks is literally "Cast Away" and has (Mrs.) Wilson at his side.

Jungle king on (alp) dream vacation

The former jungle king Peer Kusmagk (44) is also stuck with his wife Janni Hönscheid (29) and the two children. What started as a dream vacation on Costa Rica has now become a puzzle for the family of four. Around three weeks ago, they went to Latin America while on parental leave and initially wanted to endure there. But then the crisis worsened and they can no longer go home. "We are stuck here, there are no more regular flights," Kusmagk had revealed by video message. Nevertheless, the couple try to stay "in this difficult situation" as optimistically as possible.
