Corona current: contact diary for everyone?

The Hamburg health authority asks you to keep a contact diary. In the event of a corona emergency, contacts should be able to be traced more quickly.

Whether in the country or in the city: All of Germany is still fighting to get the corona pandemic under control. Just yesterday, the pharmaceutical giant Biontech announced that a vaccine with 90 percent effectiveness had been developed and that approval should be applied for next week. Until the vaccination is available for everyone, we are called upon to continue to adhere to the general corona rules and above all to reduce our contacts.

Contact diary for quick identification

The Hamburg health authority is now going one step further and, according to "NDR", has issued a message in which it asks to keep a so-called contact diary. In the event of an unconscious infection, this should make it easier to make all possible contacts available to the health department as quickly as possible. It is not primarily about the typical daily contacts like with one's own family, but above all about occasions or meetings where it is inevitable to be with other people in a small space.

Anyone who is currently making sure to have as few contacts as possible anyway, I only have a manageable effort with the contact diary, argues the authority. In an emergency, however, the diary could help to prevent the coronavirus from spreading further. Hamburg.de provides a template for a possible contact diary here and can be downloaded.

The number of deaths continues to rise
