There was a corona outbreak in Baden-Württemberg – in a daycare center, of all places. Now 200 people have to go into quarantine.

The first federal states are daring opening strategies, while new corona infections in Germany are still at a high level. Day-care centers and schools are also gradually reopening in some places. A first corona outbreak has now been reported. The case relates to the state of Baden-Württemberg, where an alternation model for schools and daycare centers has been in place since the end of February.

In a day care center in Geislingen, Döppingen district in Baden-Württemberg, a total of nine people are said to have been infected with the corona virus, according to "SWR". This includes both children and kindergarten staff. Now a total of 200 people have to go into quarantine – including children, parents, contact persons of families and household members.

British corona mutation detected

The British mutation of the corona virus has so far been detected twice among the infected, as the Göppingen Regional Office is said to have announced on Saturday. This is once again considered to be significantly more contagious. In the meantime, around half of the corona infections across Germany are said to be due to the British mutation.

According to SWR, the quarantine is currently even said to have been expanded: at least five new corona cases in the family environment of daycare children or employees are said to have been reported, whereupon other families and contact persons had to go into isolation again.

On Monday, the Robert Koch Institute for Germany reported more than 5,000 new corona infections within the last 24 hours and a slightly increased incidence. At the same time, the federal government's opening plan starts today with the first easing of the lockdown.
