There was a major corona outbreak in a rehab clinic in Schleswig-Holstein. Several families have contracted the coronavirus.

Even if the corona numbers are slowly falling, they are still at a high level across Germany. On Thursday, the Robert Koch Institute reported 21,953 new corona infections within 24 hours. The seven-day incidence is 129.1.

Corona outbreak despite the hygiene concept

A major corona outbreak has now been reported in Schleswig-Holstein. In the Selener See rehabilitation clinic for mother-child and father-child in the Plön district, several people have been infected with the corona virus. The health department then made a far-reaching decision: the clinic must close, all patients have to leave by the end of the week.

The rehabilitation clinic specializes in family members who are treated together. The PCR tests were now positive in five such families. In addition, an employee is said to have been infected with the corona virus. The clinic was then closed until May 26th by order of the health department, so that current patients can no longer be treated.

In a press release from the Selenter See Rehabilitation Clinic, the latter emphasized that all hygiene measures were observed. A close-knit test and hygiene concept applies on site. Therapies only take place in small groups, and mouth and nose protection is worn. There is an absolute ban on visits and the employees are regularly tested for the corona virus.

The chain of infection is therefore not known. The closure is a preventive measure to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. All families should be given new appointments as soon as possible so that they can continue the treatments in the rehab clinic.
