If you see the first rainbow adorning a window, you still think back to your own window color phase. Sure, children need distraction right now. A little window painting comes in handy. With rainbows and hearts against the corona crisis
In fact, the colorful pictures have a deeper meaning. They should not only give employment, but above all hope. If you look closely, you can sometimes see a hidden message: "Everything will be fine".
Parents are currently painting rainbows with their children and hanging them on the windows to add color to the dreary Corona period. They should not only give comfort to neighbors and walkers – above all, the rainbow signals to other children that they are not alone: "A child lives here too – we stay at home together".
The campaign has now been expanded to include another motif: in addition to rainbows, hearts can now also be seen. In turn, they should stand for seniors who give each other hope and fight loneliness. Children also paint hearts on their windows to give grandmas and grandpas a little joy.
Protection from Corona: How you can still be there for older people
If you see a shining heart, there is again an action by the "WDR" behind it. The campaign "#Herzleuchten" should also stand for solidarity in difficult times – and show that you help and also stay at home. At the same time, the stencils illuminated with candles should show how much the work of the people who are giving everything for our society (whether in the hospital or in the supermarket) makes our hearts shine.
The window pictures are not only to be found in Germany. Families and senior citizens around the world have already jumped on the campaign. Whether in Italy, Spain, France or Germany – rainbows and hearts adorn the houses everywhere. They show us that we all stick together now. And are never alone despite physical distance.
