There was a major corona outbreak in Wedel. 400 patients in a physio practice are now under quarantine.

The corona virus continues to spread in Germany despite the lockdown. Even if the new infections are slowly declining, the Robert Koch Institute again reported over 10,000 cases on Thursday. The main question with a corona infection is still: Where did I get infected? Now a large source of infection should have been uncovered.

According to the NDR, a good 400 people are in quarantine in Wedel after a corona outbreak. They are all patients in a physio practice. This was then initially closed for two weeks.

A total of 11 people, including five employees and six patients in the practice, are said to have tested positive for the coronavirus. Due to the large number of patients, the quarantine now amounts to 400 people.

It is currently not known who exactly was initially infected with the coronavirus and passed it on. That's why so many people have to be in quarantine. In total, more than 400 patients are said to be affected. The authorities are now working on clearing up the chain of infection as quickly as possible.

For this purpose, all contact persons were tested for the coronavirus within a short time with the help of doctors. According to the current status, the results are not yet available. It remains to be seen how the case develops.

The corona outbreak shows how quickly the virus can spread – and how uncontrollable the chains of infection become, the more contacts a person has. That is why what Chancellor Angela Merkel repeatedly emphasizes in her press conferences still applies: reduce contacts to the bare minimum. Even if it is difficult – this is the only way we can fight the pandemic together.
