Corona vaccination required
Vacation abroad will soon only be possible with proof of vaccination?
Without corona vaccination not a holiday? Travel experts have a clear opinion on special rights for vaccinated people.
A good third of the Israeli population is now vaccinated against the coronavirus or has survived Covid 19 disease. For this third, a little more normality has returned, because with a "Green Pass" people can go back to the gym or the theater from now on. Other countries such as Greece, Spain, Portugal, Cyprus and Malta are also flirting with this special treatment. The Seychelles, Iceland and Poland have already announced significant relief for vaccinated. What does that mean for Germans and their vacation?
The German Ethics Council has clearly positioned itself on this issue: No special rights for vaccinated people! Private providers of events or airlines, however, the Panel sees room for maneuver. The tour operator "TUI" does not make use of this: At the request of the news agency spot on news, the company stated: "We will not issue special rights for vaccinated travelers ourselves, here we adhere to the legal requirements."
Evidence of vaccination is nothing new
Mark Tantz, Managing Director of "DER Touristik Deutschland", sees the vaccinations as a good sign for the tourism industry, but currently considers the question of advantages for people who have already been vaccinated to be premature: "For example, it is still not entirely clear when all people who wish to be vaccinated can also be vaccinated. " Tantz also points out an important aspect: "In itself it is nothing new in the travel industry that entry into certain states is linked to conditions – possibly with proof of certain vaccinations, for example yellow fever."
Gabriela Mendoza, Country Manager at the travel portal "weg.de", is of the opinion that information in the form of a vaccination certificate "can be beneficial before a trip". For "AIDA" is "a possible vaccination record at the moment not an issue." You continue to have faith to a mandatory test before ascent, regular health checks and testing capacity on board.
Survey: Holidays abroad not only for vaccinated people!
But the big question is actually: Do German vacationers even want to travel to and from the country under the condition of a corona vaccination? In a survey by the travel portal "Urlaubguru", 69 percent of the 5,000 respondents said that vacationing abroad should not only be possible for vaccinated people. Nevertheless, 43 percent would be vaccinated in order to be able to visit countries with possible vaccination regulations for entry. It remains to be seen how the general situation will develop. Tobias Knaut, travel expert at "Urlaubspiraten", encourages globetrotters and emphasizes: "It is important that no state is planning to only allow vaccinated people to enter."
