Corona warning app: New update brings booster and PCR test information

After an update, version 2.17 of the Corona warning app is now available for download for Android and iOS. New additions include statistics relating to the booster vaccination and new procedures after positive PCR and rapid tests.

The project team from the Robert Koch Institute, Deutsche Telekom and SAP is giving the Corona-Warn-App a makeover and introducing minor changes to the statistics, Covid-19 tests, the wastepaper basket and your social media channels. With the new version 2.17, users of the app can also find out about the current status of the booster vaccination when they navigate through the statistics tiles in the status area. Interested parties can also find out about the utilization of the intensive care units, the confirmed new infections and the 7-day incidence.

Expiration date for deleted certificates and notification after positive tests

Deleted certificates and tests that were manually or automatically moved to the Corona-Warn-App (CWA) recycle bin are now provided with a deletion date. A final deletion will only be made after 30 days. The recycle bin can be found in the main menu at the top right (Android) or in the lower area of the start screen (iOS). In addition, the developers integrate links to their social networks, where they talk about news about their app.

Furthermore, the instructions and procedures for positive test results have been revised. For example, if the PCR test is positive, the app points out risk factors and provides information about the isolation period. For Android users, the update also includes the notifications already integrated in advance for iOS, which now also appear when the Corona-Warn-App has already been opened. As is known, the update will be distributed step by step within the next 48 hours via the App Store and the Play Store.
