Coronavirus in France: the results of this Monday, February 14


The situation tends to improve, with contaminations decreasing and hospitalizations stable. The daily update on the Covid-19 epidemic in France, with figures from Public Health France and the Ministry of Health.

Contaminations

In 24 hours, 26,475 positive cases were recorded, against 86,562 on Sunday.

Hospitalizations

French hospitals currently have 31,532 patients with Covid compared to 31,621 on Sunday (and 33,447 a week ago). The number of new admissions (2,215) was however up from the previous day (697) or seven days earlier (328).

The number of people hospitalized in critical care units is also down, with 3,296 patients (including 311 daily admissions) against 3,305 the day before, and 3,622 a week ago. This figure has been falling for several days.

Deaths

Deaths, up sharply since November, remain at a high level, mainly among unvaccinated and immunocompromised: 385 people have been killed by the disease in the past 24 hours, against 107 on Sunday.

The vaccination

54.1 million people have now received at least one injection (80.3% of the total population) and 53 million are fully vaccinated (78.7% of the population). 37.86 million people received a booster dose.
