Coronavirus in France: the results of this Monday, February 21


The situation tends to improve, with contaminations decreasing and hospitalizations stable. The daily update on the Covid-19 epidemic in France, with figures from Public Health France and the Ministry of Health.

CONTAMINATIONS

17,195 cases of contamination have been recorded in the past 24 hours, the average over the last seven days has fallen to 81,246 per day, against 82,571 on Sunday.

HOSPITALIZATIONS

French hospitals currently have 28,383 patients with Covid, compared to 28,643 the day before and 31,532 a week earlier.

The easing of this pressure is particularly visible on new hospitalizations: 1,593 in 24 hours against 1,685 the day before and 2,102 last Saturday.

This downward trend is also found in critical care services, which receive the most serious cases, in particular in intensive care, with 2,905 patients (including 190 new admissions), against 2,923 the day before and 3,296 a week ago.

DEATHS

227 people have died in the past 24 hours, compared to 242 the day before and 265 a week earlier. In two years of epidemic, the Covid has caused the death of 132,662 in France.

THE VACCINATION

Since the start of the booster campaign, 38,570,088 people have received a booster dose. In addition, since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 54,160,360 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 80.3% of the total population1) and 53,133,272 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 78. 8% of the total population).
