Coronavirus in France: the results of this Tuesday, February 22


The situation tends to improve, with contaminations decreasing and hospitalizations stable. The daily update on the Covid-19 epidemic in France, with figures from Public Health France and the Ministry of Health.

CONTAMINATIONS

97,382 cases of contamination have been recorded in the past 24 hours. The average over the last seven days has fallen to less than 75,000 cases, against 81,246 on Monday and 119,000 a week earlier.

HOSPITALIZATIONS

French hospitals currently have 27,566 patients with Covid, compared to 28,383 the day before and 31,091 a week earlier.

The easing of this pressure is particularly visible on new hospitalizations: 1,504 in 24 hours against 1,593 the day before and 2,015 last Tuesday.

This downward trend is also found in critical care services, which receive the most serious cases, in particular in intensive care, with 2,842 patients (including 177 new admissions), against 2,905 the day before and 3,235 a week ago.

DEATHS

286 people have died in the past 24 hours, compared to 283 the day before and 304 a week earlier. In two years of epidemic, the Covid has caused the death of 137,276 in France.

THE VACCINATION

Since the start of the booster campaign, 38,570,088 people have received a booster dose. In addition, since the start of the vaccination campaign in France, 54,160,360 people have received at least one injection (i.e. 80.3% of the total population1) and 53,133,272 people now have a complete vaccination schedule (i.e. 78. 8% of the total population).
