Corsair launches its first gaming laptop, the Voyager a1600

Corsair launches its very first gaming laptop: the Voyager a1600. It is a gaming computer that relies on both its power and its design. Its particularity is to have a touch bar just below the screen.

Corsair is known for its accessories dedicated to gaming, such as keyboards, mice and headsets. After the takeover of the manufacturer Origin in 2019, the American brand is launching into gaming laptops. The first model presented is the Voyager a1600, and it is very enticing.

This is a 16-inch gaming PC that wants to seduce with to its technical characteristics, but also its design. If it is not particularly thin (2 cm) or light (more than 2 kilos), it still seeks to give the feeling of an aerial design which is reminiscent of the Razer Blade.

Regarding the technical characteristics, we have something very promising. The PC is equipped with a 16-inch panel with a definition of 2560 x 1600 pixels with a refresh rate of 240 Hz, a Ryzen 7 6800HS or Ryzen 9 6900HS processor, a Radeon 6800M GPU, a maximum of 64 GB of RAM and a 2 TB SDD. A spec sheet that leaves you dreaming. Interestingly, Corsair made the choice of AMD here, since no Intel or Nvidia GPU version will be offered.

But the particularity of the PC is actually in the Touch Bar. These are function keys that go from S1 to S10 placed on a touch screen that runs above the main keyboard. They therefore do not take the place of existing keys and can be fully customized according to the user’s wishes. They are compatible with the integrated software Elgato Stream Deck, Valve software dedicated to streamers. The latter can therefore easily manage their direct via these buttons. The icing on the cake: this bar is accessible even when the PC is closed. Convenient if a streamer connects a screen and external devices to play: he will always have access to his shortcuts.

The Voyager a1600 will be available from June for 2700 or 3000 dollars depending on the version. No prices in euros for the moment. We don’t even know if the computer will be released on this date on the old continent.
