Corsair launches its first PC and targets streamers

The famous gaming accessory manufacturer is entering the world of laptops with the Voyager a1600. Powered by AMD, it is aimed above all at players, but also at those who wish to stream.

Introducing the Corsair Voyager a1600, the first laptop from the famous brand of gaming accessories and PC components. Quite naturally, this first step into this new market is primarily aimed at gamers, with even a particular focus on those who would like to stream on the go.

A touchbar signed StreamDeck

The main feature of the Corsair Voyager a1600 is to have a touch bar, a bit like some MacBooks or the XPS 13 Plus can already offer. This time, this additional shortcut bar does not replace the function keys, however, but is added to the set, which is rather excellent news. We therefore have access to 10 additional configurable keys, as well as an indicator, useful in particular for seeing the battery level of the PC.

These 10 shortcut keys (numbered from S1 to S10) are managed by the software of the Stream Deck, this accessory that has become so important for the majority of streamers in order to vary quickly from one scene to another or to launch a short animation of reaction for example. Remember that El Gato, the brand that produces the Stream Deck, has belonged to Corsair since 2018.

Of course, the Stream Deck, and therefore these additional keys, can also be used for many other purposes. For example, they can be set to launch special shortcuts on the Adobe suite, easily manage your settings during videoconferences (mute the audio for example), etc.

Note that this touch screen remains accessible even when the PC is closed, which allows you to quickly consult its battery level for example. It will nevertheless be necessary to take particular care of it so as not to damage it in a bag.

Note that with its dimensions of 356 mm x 286.7 mm x 19.9 mm and its weight of 2.4 kg, the Corsair Voyager a1600 will precisely need a bag to be transported.

Configurations of the Corsair Voyager a1600

The Corsair Voyager A1600 is available in two configurations, both powered by AMD. We find on board a Ryzen 7 6800HS or a Ryzen 9 6900HS, as well as a Radeon RX 6800M GPU. Everything is coupled with 2x 16 GB or 2x 32 GB of DDR5 and 1 to 2 TB of PCIe 4 NVMe SSD storage, and powered by a 99 Wh (6410 mAh) battery.

On the display side, it’s a 16-inch screen in 16:10 format with a definition of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a refresh rate of 240 Hz, ideal for video games. There is also a 1080p30 camera (with an integrated mechanical cover) and a mechanical keyboard with switches Cherry MX ultra low profile.

Finally, the connection is rather traditional with 3 USB-C ports (2x USB 4.0 Thunderbolt 3 + 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2), a USB-A port, an SDXC card reader and a 3.5 mm jack output. Connectivity is not left out with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2.

Corsair Voyager a1600 price and availability

The announced prices of the Corsair Voyager a1600 are 2700 dollars for the version with a Ryzen 7 and 3000 with a Ryzen 9. The prices in euros are not yet known for the moment.
