A second step into the universe

As announced in the preamble, CORSAIR only recently entered the world of gaming chairs. The previous range, called T3 RUSHoffers a smaller seat for a classic use, but effective, thus enlarging their versatility of action in players. The T3 RUSH is available in three distinct colors.

Unboxing

We take a particular interest in the content as well as in the packaging of the product which remains the first contact with it. Regarding TC200, the organization is fairly standard. Two boxes centralize all the mobile elements, while the backrest and the seat are nested on top of each other to save space. Some bubble wrap accompanied by a little foam for only protection. Nevertheless, this seems sufficient to protect the whole.

The return of the cat

Without changing habits, the Coca cat hastened to run into the box as soon as it was available. Two or three sniffles before finding the position that would occupy most of the morning.

Mounting

Announced as , we still stumbled on certain points when assembling the seat. In its entirety, assembly is fairly typical. However, several assemblies of screws and/or elements required us to nest/relieve non-intuitive parts. Note, finally, that no notice is present in the packaging. It will thus be necessary to refer to the videos available on the manufacturer’s channel to guide you step by step.

Zoom to components

Coating and format

the TC200 appeared in two different formats. one in breathable fabric and the other, which we will talk about in this article, in leatherette. As usual, we find the famous imitation suede for the uprights of the armchair as well as the edges of the seats. Note that; despite the excellent contrast it offers, this coating easily assimilates and stores cat hair and dust. In order to allow the foam and the armchair to ventilate better, the seat and the back see their centers composed of multiple perforations. The whole, associated with the seams and combinations of coatings, offers a visually pleasing result.

Case

The folder is probably the most unique component we have ever tested. Indeed, to compensate for the absence of a lumbar cushion, while offering comfortable support, it adopts a slightly curved shape in the lower part of the back. At first glance, we’re skeptical of its performance. However, when using, we welcome the integration of a rather soft foam which avoids having the feeling of a wall in the lower back. The foam gently takes the shape of your back to improve your sitting position while preserving your lower back.

Slightly bucket, in order to confirm its racing-inspired stylingthe returns of the seat are reduced as you go up until they disappear at shoulder level so as not to disturb users who like to sit at the back.

Seated

You know it by force, but we are followers of the seats in one part to avoid the accumulation of dust, impurities or even crumbs for those who eat on their seat. Where most manufacturers make it a reference, CORSAIR offers with the TC200 a strong bucket seat with a groove between the buttocks area and the hip area. Ultimately, the seat is pleasant to usebenefits from a soft and breathable foam thanks to the micro-perforations in the center of the coating and high-performance and pleasant seams.

The seat support benefits from good finishes while the assembly with the cylinder and the pivot block is quite easy. Do not forget to consult the videos and/or instructions online. This seat is more recommended for users who like to sink into their seat while maintaining a certain amount of support.

The armrests

Let’s go back to basics with the armrests. Whether CORSAIR allows itself certain sprains, the manufacturer has understood the interest of 4D armrests for gaming chairs. It even goes further by incorporating an innovative coating, although it does not add significant value. The raised grid is, indeed, welcoming. We find, moreover, the element that makes the soul of CORSAIR recently, the name of the product is engraved on the upright of the armrest and brings a little something visually pleasing. Finally, here are the options that can be activated at using the buttons :

  • Adjust the height
  • Rotate left or right
  • Before behind
  • Left/Right (Outside/Inside)

The armrests are equipped with dense foam, which still sinks if you put your elbows down or press down a little hard with your fingers. Enough to offer a rigid, but comfortable rendering.

Chassis and finishes

Although it is not necessarily decisive as to the end-use quality of the product, the finish makes it possible to understand interest and respect that the manufacturer carries towards you. If it pays attention to small details, with no real impact for the consumer, then it is very likely to see it performing on par, or even better, for the essential elements of the chair. Here, CORSAIR shows all its determination with an elegant chassis, a rigid tubular steel frame and respectable welds and finishes.
The base, which accommodates the wheels, is made of steel. The finishes are exemplary and some barely noticeable.

casters

It’s here that CORSAIR takes the most risks by attempting an evolution that is not very obvious or popular with the competition. We find 75 mm castors, equipped with a braked pivot system when no one is on the seat. This should dissipate and allow the chair to move more freely as soon as someone sits on it. But here we are, we tested it with people of different weights and if in principle the idea is interesting, it is not always functional. So we often end up with unnecessarily braked wheels. What’s more, if you’re doing housework and need to move the TC200it will be harder to do so. A technology that does not really appeal to usbut which will be able to find takers among certain users.

The piston

The support part is also one of the most important of your seat since it recovers the efforts and compensates them. However, we will not go into details. Moreover, the manufacturer does not announce the class of its pistons. Nevertheless, during our test, the cushioning was under control and without any particular flaws to note. As a reminder, the class of a piston simply means that it has undergone a battery of tests to which it has responded positively. The piston has a plastic cover.

The cushions

As announced at the beginning of the article, the TC200 only arrives in our living rooms equipped with a head cushion, since the shape of the backrest makes it possible to bypass that for the lumbar. Several positions are possible, whether simply sliding it into the upper part of the backrest or taking advantage of the openings in the seat to strap it in place. Small flat on the absence of logo, name of the product or other on the cushion which arrives to us in its simplest device. Covered in a very soft fabric for an interior made of memory foam.

Adjustment and rocking

Like many seats, it is possible to rotate, raise/lower and tilt, but also to stop it. To do this, an easy-to-access lever is present under the right of the seat, which you simply have to operate to raise/lower and push/pull if you want to block the front/rear pivot. The power of the latter is adjustable via a large handle to screw according to the desired force, which is located under the seat.

Finally, unsurprisingly, the tilt lever is comparable to the competition and is located to the right of the chair. No risk of touching the armrest by activating it, but the handle remains, all the same, quite small to use. Note that no safety system is present on the seat concerning the rocking zones. This is simply due to the fact that the backrest cannot recline less than 90°.

When using

A few additional points to bring up. First, we tested the limits of the seat before it became unsafe to use. We noted that the seat could start to tip over if you’re too far forward and use your buttocks or the front of the armrests to get up. The same applies to the maximum inclination of the product. In situation, we almost happened to touch the head of the backrest with the ground (pivot and maximum tilt). As the chair is not designed for this type of application, a handling error could cause you to move backwards.

_DSC6341

Finally, note the soft appearance of the entire chair, as the competition will tend to stiffen it. This is a point to consider daily use as well as your own wishes. At the moment T, it is difficult for us to know if the foam and the coating will go so far as to relax and accentuate the rather soft effect. Anyway, the seat remains comfortable and the tub aspect allows us to position our body really in the center of the chair. For fans of special positions while seated, be aware that it is difficult to get into a suit or with your foot under your buttocks with this seat. It will be perfect for classic and/or “normal” use while keeping your whole body in an ergonomic position.
