- The centrist National Councilor and trade association president Fabio Regazzi is joining the Council of States for Ticino.
- The previous Ticino Councilor of States Marco Chiesa (SVP) was confirmed in the second round of voting.
- FDP National Councilor Alex Farinelli only received 2,406 fewer votes. He ended up in third place.
The SP lost its seat in the Council of States. The party held the second Ticino seat in Stöckli until last April. However, this seat has been vacant since the election of former State Councilor Marina Carobbio to the Ticino government.
National Councilor Bruno Storni, who should have defended Carobbio’s seat, withdrew in favor of Green Party member Greta Gysin after a poor result in the first round of voting. Gysin, who has been a member of the National Council since 2019, was unable to outperform the two middle-class candidates. This meant that the Greens could not save the left-wing seat either.
