The wife of Prince Edward, 59, traveled to Italy to attend the state funeral in Rome on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, for former President Giorgio Napolitano, who died on September 22 at the age of 98. During the non-religious memorial service at Palazzo Montecitorio, she wore a black boat-neck midi dress adorned with a diamond brooch and listened to the translation of the ceremony through headphones.

Countess Sophie’s appointment calendar is well filled
Since returning to serve the Crown after the summer break, Sophie’s schedule has been packed to the brim. Just last week, the mother-of-two attended a performance of “Musicals from the Heart” at the Mayflower Theater in Southampton as patron of the charity Heartbeat to mark the charity’s 30th anniversary. She also attended a breakfast in Devon honoring heroes and volunteers from some of the county’s 4,000 charities.
