The prefecture of Haute-Vienne has revised upwards its gauge for the shock of 16es finals in Limoges, increasing it from 5,000 to 8,000 spectators.
11,000 spectators, then 5,000 and finally 8,000. The spectator gauge for the 16e of the Coupe de France final between Chauvigny (National 3) and the Olympique de Marseille scheduled for Sunday has been playing yoyo for a few days. While 11,000 spectators were first expected at the Beaublanc stadium in Limoges (out of a capacity of 13,182 seats), the Haute-Vienne prefecture showered local supporters by announcing on Wednesday a limit to 5,000 people in the context of the spread of the Covid-19.
This Thursday, the local authorities revised their authorization upwards, finally setting it at 8,000. A gauge that will allow “to guarantee the respect of barrier gestures and physical distancing”In the enclosure, ensures a letter from the prefect of Haute-Vienne. Wearing a mask will be compulsory and the public will not be able to eat in the stadium. The refreshment stalls will be closed before and throughout the meeting, the authorities specify.
The meeting is scheduled for Sunday at 9:00 p.m., the day before the application of laws limiting the number of spectators in open stadiums to 5,000 and 2,000 for closed venues. While waiting for the reopening of the ticket office (it was suspended this Thursday pending the announcement of the Prefecture of Haute-Vienne) the public rushed Wednesday to the tickets on sale. 2,000 places had found takers in a few hours for the eagerly awaited arrival of the Olympians.
