Coupe de France: OGC Nice qualifies for the final after winning against Versailles

OGC Nice qualified for the final of the Coupe de France by beating Versailles (N2) 2-0 on Tuesday at the Allianz Riviera.

Amine Gouiri, man of the match, made the difference. Even with a “pretty good” performance, the Niçois provided the essentials. Third in Ligue 1, the Aiglons won their ticket thanks to goals from Amine Gouiri (48th) and Kasper Dolberg (73rd).

Dominated from the kick-off, the Niçois got the first big chance of the match with a header from Thuram which only grazed the bar. During the first 45 minutes, the amateurs managed to control the Aiglons thanks to a defensive block perfectly in place. Result: 0-0 at halftime.

Upon returning from the locker room, the Niçois showed a different face from the first period. On a cross from Lotomba, Amine Gouiri finds the way to the net with a superb volley in the skylight (48th).

In the 73rd minute, Amine Gouiri shifts Kasper Dolberg after a dribbling festival. The Danish striker calmly adjusts Delaunay and pushes the ball into the net.

Following this victory, the Aiglons will face on May 8 at the Stade de France the winner of the other semi-final between Nantes and Monaco, scheduled for Wednesday.
