Couple: discover the favorite nickname of the French to designate their partner: Current Woman The MAG

In a Relationship, there are many who like to give their loved one name names to show them that they care about him. Some lovers go for classic and timeless nicknames, such as "my darling" or "my love", but others prefer childish nicknames, like "my lover" or "sweetie". Small names related to animals, such as "my rabbit" or "my doe", are also appreciated. But which are the most used by lovebirds in France?

On Valentine's Day, Mon Chéri and YouGov France asked 175,000 people to answer a few questions. The purpose of the survey? Shine a spotlight on the affectionate little names the French people love.

Cute nicknames: what are the most popular little names in France?

According to the survey, lovers appreciate one particular nickname. This sweet little name is "my heart". The results of the survey revealed that more than a third of French people, or 36%, give this nickname to their partner. The latter is particularly popular with women who are 45% to use it against 33% of men.

In second position, we find the nickname "my love". The poll found that 32% of people called their other half as well. This affectionate little name is most often used by lovers aged 18 to 24 (45%) or by those over 55 (26%).

Clearly, the classic and traditional nicknames remain the favorites of the French. This was already the case in 2019, according to another YouGov France poll for Mon Chéri. At that time, "my heart" and "my love" were already at the top of the ranking. They were followed closely by "my baby" and "my kitten".
