Biden sees Trump as a “supporter of an insurrection”

According to incumbent Joe Biden, former US President Donald Trump clearly supported an uprising. With regard to a ruling by the Supreme Court of the state of Colorado that Trump will not be allowed to take part in next year’s presidential primaries in Colorado because of his role in the storming of the Capitol almost three years ago, Biden said: “I’ll leave that decision to the court. But “He certainly supported an uprising. No question, none.”
“It’s obvious. You’ve seen it all,” Biden continued. The Democrat is expected to run against the Republican Trump again in next year’s presidential election; both are neck and neck in polls. It was a rare statement from Biden about the various legal proceedings against Trump.
The Colorado Supreme Court ruled on Tuesday in a sensational decision that Trump was disqualified from running for president because of his role in the storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021. That’s why the Republican is not allowed to take part in his party’s presidential primaries in Colorado.
Trump wants to appeal the decision
Trump’s campaign team condemned the decision, which revolves around the accusation of “insurrection” and which only applies to the primary elections in the state. It said it would appeal the ruling to the U.S. Supreme Court. Conservative judges make up a clear majority there. In addition to Colorado, there are also efforts in other states to exclude Trump from the primaries.
Biden defeated Trump in the 2020 presidential election. However, Trump refused to acknowledge his defeat and made allegations of massive election fraud, which were often refuted.
Trump’s crusade against his election defeat resulted in the attack by radical Trump supporters on Congress on January 6, 2021, with the aim of preventing a final confirmation of Biden’s election victory. Shortly before the attack, Trump had called on his supporters to march to the Capitol and fight “no matter what.”
