Covid-19: 59% of French people draw a negative assessment of the management of the health crisis


More and more French people are critical of the government’s action regarding the management of the crisis

The French are increasingly critical of the government’s action against the health crisis. According to a barometer of the economy carried out by Odoxa for BFM Business, Aviva and Challenges, 59% draw a negative balance from this management. Only 40% draw a positive balance sheet and 1% do not decide. Last November, the French were however 48% to be positive and even 54% in June.

In Europe, 51% of Europeans welcome the action of their leaders. Italy is the country where the population is the most satisfied, with 63% of people giving a positive assessment. In Spain, they are 52% and in the United Kingdom, 49%. On the other hand, the Germans are very unfavorable since only 38% believe that this crisis has been well managed by their leaders.

Economic future

Regarding the economic future, 35% of French people are “rather confident”, despite the appearance of the Omicron variant. This index has skyrocketed in recent months since only 19% of French people were “rather confident” in January 2021.

This survey was carried out with a sample of 2,007 Europeans, in November 2021.
