Covid-19 at school: outdoor masks, self-tests… Announcements expected around the weekend

“We were told that an opinion from the High Council for Public Health would be given at the end of the week” and “that the decisions would then come fairly quickly”, with “announcements planned for the end of the week or the beginning of the week next,” said Sophie Vénétitay, secretary general of Snes-FSU, the leading secondary school union, after a meeting between the trade unions, the ministries of Education and Health and the High Council for Health public.

“We still have a little work to do by the end of the week to be able to announce all of this,” said Minister of Education Jean-Michel Blanquer, traveling to Hauts-de-Seine.

No schedule for the indoor mask

Several “tracks” of relief were mentioned during this meeting, detailed Sophie Vénétitay, among which the possibility of reducing from three to two the number of self-tests for children with contact cases, “the end of certificates” on the honor that families give after the first self-test, the possible end of wearing a mask outdoors at school, or even a possible reduction in the level of protocol in primary school, which could be reduced from level 3 to level 2, again authorizing a greater mixing of students.
