Covid-19 – New Year: no curfew, but a call to the responsibility of the French

A call for the responsibility of all rather than an additional constraint. After reflection, the government finally ruled out the possibility of establishing a curfew on the evening of December 31, unlike what it had done a year ago, at the end of the Sanitary Defense Council organized on Monday. December 27.

“At this stage, our desire to adapt our measures in a proportionate way leads us to rule out any curfew measure”, said Jean Castex during the press conference at the end of the Health Defense Council.

Exit, therefore, the curfew, as well as specific recommendations on the gauges to be respected in the context of private parties. The Prime Minister, however, called on the French to take responsibility, in order to limit the mixing and therefore contamination on the occasion of New Year’s Eve.

“I renew the recommendations I made on December 17th”, said Jean Castex, urging to avoid the organization of large dinners. “Let’s wear the mask, ventilate the rooms, respect the barrier gestures, let’s test ourselves”, he pleaded, extolling “common sense measures that trust our sense of responsibility”.

New health restrictions will apply, however, but from January 3, 2022, including the limitation of gauges during major events (concerts, festivals, etc.) and the ban on consumption while standing in bars.
