The total number of hospitalized patients reached 25,776, of whom 2,815 were admitted in 24 hours. The previous Monday, 22,749 people were hospitalized

The number of patients with Covid-19 hospitalized in critical care remained stable on Monday January 17 compared to seven days earlier, with a number of new cases detected still high over a week, according to official figures.

Critical care services had 3,913 Covid-19 patients on Monday (including 355 new admissions), compared to 3,852 the day before and the day before and 3,904 the previous Monday. The total number of hospitalized patients reached 25,776, of whom 2,815 were admitted in 24 hours. The previous Monday, 22,749 people were hospitalized.

The daily number of new cases of contamination recorded amounts to 102,144, against 278,129 the day before. On average, over the last seven days, there have been 295,630 daily cases against 268,185 the previous Monday. This calculation helps to smooth out the deviations observed from one day to the next, often artificially created by data collection problems.

The epidemic has caused the death of 298 people in 24 hours, bringing the total number of deaths in France since the start of the pandemic, almost two years ago, to 127,265.
