Some traders have seen the pandemic as an easy way to make money by selling all kinds of protections against Covid-19, starting with masks, gloves or hydroalcoholic gels. But, not all products are good for fighting the virus. Worse, some may even cause the opposite effect. Thursday, June 25, 2020, the Directorate General for Competition, Consumption and Fraud Prevention (DGCCRF) issued a press release, spotted by our colleagues from Capital. It concerns the use of a certain hydroalcoholic gel : 150 ml bottle "Clean and pure" marketed by the brand El Temizleme Jeli. According to the DGCCRF, the freeze would have a rate "insufficient ethanol" to perform its antibacterial and antiviral functions. It would therefore have no use in removing traces of coronavirus from our hands.

Alert on the use of gels in case of hot weather
