“In view of the epidemic situation, it was decided to extend these funds to ensure the maintenance of the shootings planned in the coming weeks,” he said in a statement.

Two funds had been set up in France, at the end of the first confinement. One, managed by the National Center for Cinematography and Animated Image (CNC), guarantees film shoots. The other, managed by the General Directorate of Media and Cultural Industries (DGMIC), allows compensation for so-called flow television programs (games, magazines, entertainment, etc.) “for disasters occurring as of June 1, 2020”, explains the Ministry.

Both had already been extended. Last September, more than 900 shoots (fiction, animation, documentary and live performance recording) had joined the 100 million euros fund (half of which was public money) set up by the CNC.
