Covid-19 What is the Pass+, the new temporary vaccine pass?

The Prime Minister, Jean Castex, had recalled this summer: we must not “give up any lever to encourage vaccination”. This is precisely the objective of the “Pass+”, available since Tuesday in the Tous Anti Covid application. Since January 24, the vaccination pass, which requires having a complete vaccination plan to access the various public places, has come into force. But in France, 19.2% of the population is still not vaccinated. French people also have an incomplete vaccination schedule, with a single dose.

It is precisely for this category of the population that the “Pass+” is intended. It allows newly vaccinated people to access places subject to the vaccination pass for 24 hours thanks to a negative test. We explain to you.

Who can benefit from the “Pass+”?

People who received their first dose of vaccine before February 15 can benefit from the Pass+. For this, they must present a negative test of less than 24 hours.

What are the conditions ?

“Their vaccination pass will be valid from the day of their first dose, on one condition. They must also present a negative PCR or antigen test result dating back less than 24 hours. They will then have to take their second dose within a deadline, otherwise their pass will be canceled and to recover it, they will need a complete vaccination schedule so they will have to wait three more months, ”explains Jean Castex.

People who have received their first injection can therefore benefit from the Pass+ during the 28-day period before obtaining their second dose.

What is the goal ?

According to the Prime Minister, this is a “derogation to encourage the non-vaccinated to take the plunge”. The Government believes that the time required between the two doses of anti-Covid vaccine – around three weeks – may discourage some French people from getting vaccinated. Without the Pass+, newly vaccinated French people could not access places subject to the vaccination pass before having obtained their second dose.

How to access it?

Users must update the Tous anti Covid application to benefit from this new feature. You must scan in the application the QR code of the document certifying that you have received your first injection, and that of your negative Covid test. You must then go to the “Carnet” section where the “Pass+” tab appears next to the certificates. Then simply “generate a Pass+” by selecting the first dose certificate and the results of the last test carried out.

The vaccination pass, which requires having a complete vaccination plan to access public places (restaurants, bars, places of culture, long-distance transport, etc.) came into force on January 24.
