Covivio acquires a portfolio of 640 housing units in Berlin for 154 million euros


PARIS (Agefi-Dow Jones) – The listed real estate investment company Covivio announced on Monday that it had acquired a portfolio of 640 housing units in Berlin, for an amount of around 154 million euros, representing a group share investment of 95 millions of euros.

“Covivio intends to deploy its asset management approach [gestion d’actifs, ndlr] and real estate management on this portfolio “and carry out” extension or densification programs to offer new apartments to Berlin’s growing population, “the company said in a statement.

All the accommodations are located in attractive Berlin neighborhoods with excellent public transport links, such as Chalottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg, Tempelhof-Schöneberg and Tegel, Covivio said.
