Covivio: launch of an anti-water waste program – 01/08/2024 at 11:30 a.m.

(CercleFinance.com) – Covivio announced on Monday the launch of a program intended to combat water waste in its office buildings in France.

The land company indicates that it has set itself the objective of achieving a rate of hydro-saving equipment (aerators and flow limiters, economical flushes, sensor taps) of 80% by the end of the year, compared to 65% currently.

The commercial real estate group also plans to increase the number of water recovery systems installed in its buildings by 20% by the end of 2024.

At the same time, Covivio aims to equip 100% of its buildings with detection processes or equipment to limit leaks.

It also plans to implement real-time management of consumption while raising awareness among the occupants of its buildings about the issue of water waste through the establishment of a charter on good water management and good actions to adopt.

While water consumption in an office building is on average 0.33 m3/m²/year, the water intensity of Covivio’s fleet decreased by 38% between 2008 and 2022, reaching 0.26 m3. /m²/year.

This new program aims to exceed the objective of the government water plan, which plans to reduce water withdrawals by 10% by 2030.
