This series was only mediocre with both critics and viewers. In addition, the budget is said to have been around 7 million US dollars per episode due to the sets, the fights and the CGI effects.
“Cowboy Bebop” author Naomi Markman wrote on Twitter after the cancellation that viewers would be missing out on the cancellation. Literally translated, she wrote:
“I don’t want to rub it in your face, but as the one who’s read the Cowboy Bebop S2 scripts more than anyone in the world, you’re fucking missing out on something.”

Markman received some derisive replies from users on this tweet. They doubt that they will really miss anything by canceling the series and prefer to use the “Cowboy Bebop” anime, which is also available on Netflix.
