Cowboy is one of the neo-brands that appeared a few years ago after sensing the craze for city dwellers’ bikes. The brand’s models display a rather sporty temperament, with narrow handlebars and a frankly leaning forward position. It’s not for everyone, so Cowboy decided to develop the more comfortable Cruiser line. There is the Cruiser Classic with a closed frame and the Cruiser ST with a low step-over frame, which is actually the new name of the C4ST. It’s not clear ? We tell you everything.
As we mentioned, the riding position of previous generations of Cowboy bikes did not have only fans. How often in such cases, the brand turns this in a positive way by indicating that it has met the expectations of a part of its community which demanded a more upright “Dutch” position. It is true that this has many advantages in the city. Indeed, visibility is improved and the cyclist can more easily see the dangers around him. Of course, the straight back puts less stress on the joints. The changes are manifold. First of all, a new one-piece stem and handlebar assembly makes its appearance. Everything is higher, and the handlebar is a little more curved so that the support zones are ultimately closer to the saddle.
This one is also a little wider. Note also the arrival of new thicker grips for more comfort there too. In the evolutions that are not necessarily visible, note a revised transmission: still in single speed, the Cruiser adopts a higher gear ratio for a more relaxed driving, said the Belgian brand.
Two versions from 2990 €
The electrical part does not change. There is a hub motor placed in the rear wheel which delivers a torque of 45 Nm with a removable battery placed vertically in the seat tube. The bike is available in two versions, Core and Performance, for both designs, Classic and ST. The ultimate model, logically named Performance, is sold for €2,990. It benefits from a carbon belt transmission, a fast battery charger, advanced connected functions and a stem incorporating a wireless smartphone charger. This version is offered in five colors (black, lavender, fig, clay and sand). For 500 € less, the Core version returns to a classic chain transmission and you have to do without the wireless smartphone charger and the fast charger for the bicycle battery. The connected functions are basic, and this model is only offered in black. In any case, you will find the excellent finishes sublimated by a beautiful integration of cables and lighting. The bike comes standard with mudguards and specific 47mm wide tires. For the luggage rack, you will have to go through the accessory box.
