Creativity competition – Over the Limit – the winners were chosen

“Creativity instead of vandalism” was the motto of a campaign that, as part of the “Over the limit” prevention initiative, called on Wolfsberg’s youth to set a creative example against the frenzy of destruction. 65 posts were posted on the Instagram and TikTok platforms. Yesterday, Friday, the winners were chosen at the youth center.

“I’m really happy about the work that was submitted and its quality,” says initiator and “Over the Limit” project manager Christian Vallant. The idea grew after numerous acts of vandalism that caused great damage in the borough. 65 contributions were received on the subject of stopping vandalism. They were submitted on Instagram and TikTok. “The ideas of the young people are brilliant. The success is overwhelming,” emphasizes youth officer Alexander Radl. The deputy mayor, together with mayor Hannes Primus, presented the winners with their prizes. 700 young people were represented at the final event, which was held at the youth center on Friday. There was an information stand, great music and demonstrations at the skater park as well as a police information stand. Radl: “We are proud of how much creative potential there is in our youth.” Julian Sattler, who made a Lego Movie video, won the prize (1000 euros). Vallant: “The young man processed 178 images for this.” The band “The Groovy Bones”, who shot a music video, won the second first prize, also worth 1,000 euros. Due to the large number of participants and the creative ideas of the young people from Wolfsberg, a virtual “over the limit” youth gallery is now being set up. The HTL has the necessary know-how for this development. Vallant: “In this gallery, like in a video game, you will be able to step through virtual rooms while viewing the entries.”
