“For a company, today there is no tenable strategy without the implementation of a environmental and solidarity strategy», assures Nicolas Théry, the president of Crédit Mutuel Alliance Fédéral (Cmaf). The bank, which brings together 14 of the 18 regional Crédit Mutuel federations as well as CIC, has already taken measures to combat global warming (exit from coal, etc.) and in favor of solidarity (premium in favor of insured companies having suffered operating losses during Covid, etc.).

She now intends to go further. “We experimented and innovated a lot. Today, we want to give a sustainable, simple and verifiable form to our actions by creating a societal dividend“, explains Nicolas Théry. The mutual bank, which has the status of company with a mission, has therefore decided to devote 15% of its net income every year, i.e. 500 million euros for 2021 results, to subjects related to “the environmental and solidarity revolution”
