Cristiana Reali and Francis Huster formed a legendary couple for several years. But after seventeen years of love and the birth of two children, the actors finally separated in 2008. A painful separation, due for the actress to a lack of happiness within her relationship. She was no longer happy, no longer able to be, and neither was her partner. They therefore made the decision to separate, before making oneself suffer, and making the other suffer. But before this separation a beautiful love story began in 1991, while Francis Huster was then a professor at the famous Cours Florent. She explains that at the time of her meeting, Francis Huster was preparing the play Lorenzaccio and selected her from among his students to perform in the play. Two years later, it was in another of his plays that Cristiana Reali would play, which also coincided with the moment when they “started to have a more official history“. She explains that she took time to formalize this relationship, because of the age difference, but also to see if this story would go anywhere: “He was the teacher everyone revered […] And I knew that as soon as things were even a little official, I was going to be looked down upon.” Unfortunately, this was good anticipation on the part of the young woman.

After making their relationship official, the reactions were not long in coming. In the context of the time, where sexism had a lot of place, Cristiana Reali was considered by many as “the wife of…“, and not like the actress and comedian she was then. A moment which must not have been easy to live through, taking “violent looks“, when she was only 25 years old. Ultimately, the couple lived beautiful years, which Cristiana Reali still remembers as happy memories.
