Crossover, Roadster … – Renault subsidiary Alpine brings seven new ones by 2030

In the recent past, Renault’s sports offshoot Alpine has always emphasized that when expanding its model range in the future, it will primarily rely on an electric future for the brand. Now the French have specified these plans again as part of an investor day.

The focus is on a model offensive that envisages seven new models by 2030 alone. The A290, which will be a purely electric city car with a sporty design, will start next year. Technically, the small car is based on the CMFB EV platform, on which the upcoming Renault models R4 and R5 will also be based. Crossover and roadster are to come Next in 2025 will be a crossover in the compact segment, which will be produced in the French Alpine factory. Then the new edition of the currently only model, the A110, is planned. At the end of 2026 it is scheduled to be launched with a purely electric drive. The new A110 will be based on the modular and size-scalable Alpine Performance Platform (APP), which will also serve as the basis for a roadster derivative of the new A110 and for the four-seater sports coupé A310. Alpine also wants to expand its portfolio to include larger models. The French are promising two new models in the D/E segment, without giving any further details. Alpine is also sticking to plans to develop exclusive sporty models with combustion engines. Instead of gasoline, however, they should use hydrogen as a fuel. Market launch in China and the USA With the growing range, Alpine wants to further strengthen its market position in Europe and Japan, and the brand also wants to expand to China and the USA. By 2030, Alpine expects sales to grow by an average of 40 percent per year to EUR 8 billion with an operating margin of more than 10 percent. If the start in China goes well, one billion euros in sales should come from this key market alone. (SPX)
