After years of collaboration, everything is now over: her hairdresser and now confidant, Søren Hedegaard, is stepping down just in time for Princess Mary’s coronation.

Pin, lay, curl – hairdressers have mastered their craft! Crown Princess Mary, 51, has been relying on this for years, as she shines with her simply flawless appearance at major events, coronations, and even just during small visits. This is mainly due to one man behind the scenes: Søren Hedegaard, 68. The hairdresser and make-up artist took care of the Dane’s look with precision for 23 years. However, this will change with her change of title to Queen on January 14th – the artist announces his resignation in an emotional statement.

Crown Princess Mary: Your glam squad is expecting a change

Just in time for Abdication of Queen Margrethe II, 83, Søren Hedegaard announces his news. His Instagram post appears emotional as it depicts an intimate moment with Crown Princess Mary. Instead of color, he wraps the memorable image in black and white, which immediately gives it a much sadder farewell nuance. “It was 23 wonderful and unforgettable years with memories and friendships that I will always carry in my heart,” the 68-year-old wrote about his recording. Now, with the end of 2023 and the impending change of throne, he wants to pass the baton to the next generation. However, it is not yet known who this is.

However, at the age of 68, Søren Hedegaard is not taking a well-deserved break; instead, he wants to practice his craft differently as creative director at “Stuhr”.

Fans thank him for his work

His followers leave lots of compliments in the comments! “You have created a global style icon,” writes one user lovingly. Another agrees: “You’re just so incredibly talented, sensible and smart.” Above all, his professionalism and craftsmanship are praised several times, followed by congratulations on his new job. Søren Hedegaard should certainly be happy about so much appreciation at the end.
