Cuba Gooding Jr .: wife now accuses him of rape

Is Cuba Gooding Jr. really a rapist? After numerous allegations of sexual harassment, there is now a new lawsuit.

The US actor Cuba Gooding Jr. (52, "Jerry Maguire – Game Of Life") is confronted with a new allegation of sexual assault. This time, it's not even just about sexual harassment: the Oscar winner is accused of raping a woman in 2013, according to a civil lawsuit filed on Tuesday. This is reported, among other things, by the US portal "Variety".

The previously unknown woman claims the incident took place in a hotel room in New York City after previously meeting the actor in a bar in Greenwich Village, Manhattan. Then he invited her and a friend to the Mercer Hotel for drinks. Once there, he lured her to his room, where he supposedly only wanted to change.

Lawyer rejects allegations

When Gooding Jr. started to undress in front of her, the plaintiff reportedly wanted to leave the room and flee to her waiting friend in the lobby. However, Gooding Jr. blocked the exit, then pushed her onto the bed, first immorally touched her and later raped her there. She asked several times that he stop. Gooding's attorney has since vehemently denied the allegations.

"We never received the lawsuit, but the allegations are completely false and punishable under criminal law," he told Variety. The claims are "completely inappropriate and untrue". Gooding Jr. has already faced six sexual abuse charges. He pleaded not guilty in 2019. Three different women claim they were groped in incidents in New York nightclubs.
