Cubans speak out in favor of marriage for all

HAVANA, Sept 26 (Reuters) – Cubans have voted in a referendum in favor of civil marriage and adoption rights for same-sex couples, Cuba’s Electoral Commission said on Monday.

More than 3.9 million people, 66.9% of voters, approved “marriage for all”, announced the president of the Commission.

The text submitted to the vote provides that same-sex couples will be able to marry and adopt a child. (Report Marc Frank; French version Camille Raynaud, edited by Bertrand Boucey)
