One of the most famous cats in comics is about to make his return to the cinema. And for once, it is Chris Pratt who will play the main role of this new animated film.
The new voice of animated cinema
We are starting to know the song. If Hollywood decides to propose a new animated project, Chris Pratt is bound to be there. Truth be told, it was partly with animation that the Guardians of the Galaxy star began his career. At the end of the 2000s, the actor participated in the animated series Batman and Ben 10: Ultimate Alien before revealing all his talent for voice acting a few years later with the diptych The Great Lego Adventure. He also participated in the Pixar film Onward, then ended up lending his voice to the Nintendo mascot in the film Super Mario Bros. Chris Pratt therefore leads a more than convincing career in dubbing alongside his notable appearances on screen and the actor is not about to stop as he continues with a new major role: that of Garfield.

A cat in the throat
After Mario, it’s time for Garfield. Chris Pratt is to play the famous lazy and greedy cat in a new animated project produced by Sony Pictures and expected for this summer. The red cat had already been entitled to two films released during the 2000s and in which Bill Murray lent him his voice. These two feature films combining live action and special effects met with a certain success, despite harsh criticism at the time. That being said, this time Sony is opting for 100% animation with a more general public and family film. This new project is directed by Mark Dindal, director of the Disney film Kuzco. Chris Pratt will be accompanied here by Hannah Waddingham, Samuel L. Jackson and Nicholas Hoult. To get an overview of the actors’ work, just watch the trailer available in the middle of the article.
