Godzilla vs. Kong

If you follow the latest news about cinema releases, you obviously know that Godzilla x Kong: The New Kingdom has just arrived in our cinemas. Already available for a few days in the United States, this action film of titanic dimensions is already a hit across the Atlantic and has even managed to replace Dune: Part Two for best start of the year. However, the latter being a sequel, it would be better to see the previous episode before going to watch it. Netflix has therefore thought of you since Godzilla vs. Kong is currently available on the SVOD platform! Fourth opus in the MonsterVerse saga and direct sequel to both Godzilla 2: King of the Monsters and of Kong: Skull Island, this film initially released on VOD in 2021 takes place 5 years after the events of Godzilla 2. Against all expectations, humanity’s most famous kaiju then turns against it, and the Monarch organization decides to call on Kong to confront him. If you like action-packed films featuring fights that are as ridiculous as they are satisfying to watch, this is precisely the kind of film that might appeal to you. If you like films inspired by true stories and scandalous stories, you will be served this month on Netflix! After dissecting the entire history of the British royal family in The Crownthe SVOD service continues to explore the subject by offering Scoop. Available on April 5, this original film from the platform looks back at the November 2019 story surrounding the BBC interview with the Duke of York: Prince Andrew. As a reminder, the latter was then involved in the Jeffrey Epstein scandal who had just been imprisoned for trafficking of minors. Scoop then returns to the journalists who conducted this television interview during which the Duke of York denied any responsibility despite his friendship with Epstein. In addition to returning to a fascinating and very current subject as had been done She Said recently (also available on Netflix), Scoop can also boast of having an absolutely brilliant cast. Among the legends of pop music, Elton John undoubtedly has a special place. Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Slasher

Last December, Zack Snyder tried to kill Star Wars by proposing his own space science fiction film. It must be said that it was originally supposed to be part of George Lucas’ universe before his script was ultimately not accepted by Disney and he decided to make it his own universe thanks to the hosting of Netflix . Called Rebel Moon, this new film would therefore be available in two parts, the first of which has already been available on the platform for a few months. Unfortunately, the critics weren’t really kind to this first half, even if many spectators were still convinced thanks to Snyder’s particular touch. From April 19, you will finally be able to discover the end of the story thanks to Rebel Moon – Part 2: The Slasher. If it is still a little early to know if this second part will be enough to complete the whole thing, there is still hope. In the casting, you will obviously be able to find the same faces with Sofia Boutella (The Mummy), Djimon Hounsou and Charlie Hunnam (who both starred in King Arthur: The Legend of Excalibur) as well as Ed Skrein (Dead Pool), to recite nobody else but them.

Nicky Larson

Whether you grew up with Club Dorothée or are simply a fan of the manga City Hunteryou obviously know the name of Nicky Larson. After being revisited in a French adaptation produced by the Bande à Fifi (Philippe Lacheau, etc.), this cult manga returns in a new live-action adaptation produced by Netflix and straight from Japan. Directed by Yûichi Satô, this film promises to be more faithful to the original work by telling the story of Ryô Saeba (Nicky Larson in VF), the famous detective officiating in Tokyo. While he generally works with his long-time partner Makimura, the latter is brutally murdered at the start of the film. Ryô will then take it upon himself to lead the investigation into this murder alongside Kaori, Makimura’s sister. While many fans of the manga already see this adaptation as excellent news, some purists have already expressed their dissatisfaction with the French version and especially with the subtitles, who have decided to keep the names adapted from Club Dorothée rather than ‘use the original ones. A detail which risks upsetting some spectators, especially since this adaptation focuses everything on being faithful to the original work. Anyway, you can discover this new Nicky Larson film from April 25 on Netflix.
