17 years after the last film, many people would like to see Tobey Maguire once again put on his spider-man costume for new adventures.
There’s never too much Spider-Man
On screen, many actors have come and gone to play Spider-Man. It must be said that superhero films were particularly popular a few years ago and it was absolutely not uncommon to see them. Thus, fans of the Marvel universe were able to see different actors don the red and blue costume. The most recent are Tom Holland who is the current Spider-Man of the MCU, Andrew Garfield who is considered the “unloved” because he could not go as far as a trilogy, and Tobey Maguire. The latter marked the start of the 2000s with the three Sam Raimi films. The last one saw the light of day in 2007, allowing fans to say goodbye to this version of Spider-Man.
In Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021), spectators were able to see the three recent actors united in the same film. A blessing for fans who did not think they would see these actors in this iconic costume again. Since this film, many have hoped to see a sequel to The Amazing Spider-Man and with Andrew Garfield and Sam Raimi’s trilogy. However, some do not share the general enthusiasm, including this actress who believes that it is not a good idea to return in a possible new film.
Kirsten Dunst does not think she will return in a Spider-Man 4
From 2002 to 2007, Kirsten Dunst was Mary Jane Watson in Sam Raimi’s films. The complicated relationship between Peter Parker, aka Spider-Man, and this character was a central element in this version of the superhero story. Inseparable from this universe, some fans would be delighted to see her again alongside Tobey Maguire in a possible fourth film which would depict their daily life almost 20 years after the events of the films. However, the actress does not seem to share the fans’ enthusiasm.
It was so long ago… What the story would be… It would really depend on the storyline… but let’s leave things as they were.
Thus, fans’ hopes are beginning to fade after less than enthusiastic statements about a sequel to Sam Raimi’s trilogy. Some Internet users think that it is indeed the nostalgia that drives fans, and that in truth, a new film would not be a good idea. Only time will tell us whether such a project will see the light of day or not.
