Culture news The first trailer for the new film Alien has just arrived and if you like sci-fi that kicks ass, you’re in for a real treat!
Alien is one of the most cult science fiction franchises there is and it has certainly not said its last word: here it is back with Alien Romulus, the brand new film in the saga. And here is the first trailer!
All roads lead to Romulus
It was in 1979 that Ridley Scott produced one of the most important films in modern culture, revolutionizing horror and science fiction: Alien is undoubtedly a pillar of the Seventh Art, having given birth to a particularly broad and persistent. From different films to video games, comics and other crossovers, here we have a fascinating universe which is certainly not running out of steam.
Because yes, even if some were somewhat disappointed with Prometheus or Alien Covenant (even though piloted by Ridley Scott himself), know that the saga will soon give birth to Alien Romulus: for now, it’s Fede Alvarez who will wear the director’s hat, the man behind Evil Dead or Don’t Breathe: House of Darkness. The xenomorph at the center of the subject
Alien Romulus will thus set its context between the events of Alien, the eighth passenger and Aliens, the return (or between Alien 1 and 2 to speak vulgarly): we will follow the misadventures of a group of young people, prey to the famous xenomorph and other facehuggers, within a spaceship. A rather classic pitch for a film of the genre, but the trailer suggests the return of terror and careful and oppressive photography, the same one that inspired certain other great cultural works.

On the casting side, we will find Cailee Spaeny (Acharnés, How It Ends, The First Lady), Isabela Merced (Rosaline, Madame Web), David Jonsson Fray (Deep State) or Archie Renaux (Shadow & Bones). Actors and actresses who are still little known to the general public, which is enough to arouse curiosity.
Finally, other important information: Alien Romulus will be released on August 16, 2024, or in just a few months. Suffice it to say that we won’t wait long to see what it’s all about, while rememberingt that an Alien series is also planned by Noah Hawley (creator of Fargo). A big program!
