Fans of manga and anime know it well: the GTO saga has truly marked a generation of fans of Japanese culture. Published between 1997 and 2002, the original manga includes no less than 25 volumes. As a reminder, GTO (also called Great Teacher Onizuka) tells the story of Eikichi Onizuka, a very special teacher. Japan’s craziest teacher is back
If you liked the live-action version of GTO in the late 1990s, you will be delighted to learn that a new episode should soon be released on Japanese television! Called GTO: Revival, this special episode arrives 26 years after the end of the original series and will allow us to see Takashi Sorimachi again in the shoes of the main character. A few weeks ago, the project was revealed in all its forms thanks to a one minute teaser.
It was enough to reassure the fans: the spirit of the J-Drama seems to have been preserved.
