Alongside his acting career, Olivier Marchal also writes for television, but also for cinema, and it is Gangsters, his first feature film released in 2002 which made him stand out in this dual role of director and screenwriter. From, Marchal carried out many police officers, including The Lyonnais And Carbon with which the director continues to treat the genre with his brutal and realistic touch. An unsolved investigation in the heart of the Bronx
Bronx is inspired by real events, and more precisely by the Bar du Telephone killings (also called the Sant-Gérard massacre) which took place in 1978 in Marseille, in a bar in the Arnavaux district. This unresolved case has had a profound impact Olivier Marchal, who based his film on one of the best-known hypotheses. Like the event from which it is inspired, Bronx happens at Marseille, where men from the Corsican Bastiani clan commit a massacre in a beach bar.
