Cyberone: Xiaomi introduces human-like robot

Xiaomi has introduced a robot that comes in the shape of a human and also moves like a human.

Xiaomi has introduced a humanoid robot in human size, which sometimes presents flowers. The robot goes by the name of Cyberone (nickname: “Metal Bro”). He is 177 cm tall and weighs 52 kg.

At the presentation at the Xiaomi event, Cyberone gave the CEO of Xiaomi a flower, as reported by the US news portal Engadget. The robot then posed for a selfie with the CEO. Finally, the robot marched off the stage again.

Cyberone’s face is a curved OLED display. With its two microphones, the robot can distinguish 85 ambient noises and recognize 45 different human emotions. The robot sees its surroundings in 3D. The body has 13 joints. The upper limb actuators have a torque of up to 30Nm and can work with a precision of up to 1Nm to allow a soft touch, as Engadget writes. The legs are powered by actuators with a peak torque of up to 300 Nm.

The CyberOne robot should cost the equivalent of between 86,537 euros and 100,959 euros. Xiaomi always wants to add new features.

Tesla was faster

Tesla also introduced a humanoid robot in 2021, the “Optimus” or “Tesla Bot”. The robot should take on tasks that are dangerous, boring and/or repetitive. For the robot, Tesla wants to use its experience with automated machines and also use some of the software and hardware from its controversial autopilot. At the time, Musk emphasized that you could flee from the “Tesla Bot” and most likely overpower him. Xiaomi did not reveal whether this is also possible with the Cyberone.
