Cyberpunk 2077: Huge patch and PS5 version are probably on the way

A reveal account on Twitter has apparently found references to the upcoming 1.5 update and the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 in the PlayStation Store database. A new cover has also emerged – are there any chances that the PS5 version will be released in February?

CD Projekt Red had already published a roadmap in October 2021, which outlined the expected release period for Patch 1.5 including the PS5 version has been set. Both should therefore in 1st quarter of 2022 appear, so between January 1st and March 31st. You can take a look at the roadmap for yourself below.

In addition to the official announcement, several indications of an imminent release of the huge patch have now appeared: Twitter analyst PlayStation Game Size has the PS5 version of Cyberpunk 2077 reportedly found in PlayStation Store database – and also a new cover for the game:

PlayStation Game Size expects Patch 1.5 Mid-February or early March at the latest appears. In the past, the account has repeatedly circulated leaks that have been proven to be correct in terms of content via Twitter – the statement would of course also match the official statement from CD Projekt Red.

Why is patch 1.5 so important with the PS5 version?

Patch 1.3.1 is not followed by patch 1.4 but patch 1.5 – and that has the halfway logical reason that the upcoming patch combines content from 1.4 and 1.5. In other words: The upcoming patch is supposed to be gigantic and bring a number of improvements and updates to the game in addition to the PS5 version that the fans have been asking for.

This may – so it is assumed – not only mean graphical improvements or eliminated bugs, but DLC content such as hairdressers or a transmog system. All this is not confirmed, but goes back to other leaks. Also, if CD Projekt Red haven’t been deaf to fan criticism, should they also incorporate exactly such content.

By the way: one transmog system would allow players to combine the appearance of one item (clothing, weapon…) with the stats of another item. So the problem of players looking like clowns would be solved.

How good is Cyberpunk 2077 now? We looked at it in December 2021.

Cyberpunk 2077 was released on December 10, 2020 for PC and consoles. Several free patches have been released over the months that have improved the gaming experience. Patch 1.5 will also be released for free and the upcoming PS5 version should keep the current price of the game.
